Resolve to Add S'more Healthy Treats

It’s the start of the New Year, and many of us are embracing (or re-embracing) healthy resolutions. If you’re hoping to carry those resolutions all the way to the campfire, we have some delicious alternatives to the campfire classic. Instead of traditional s’mores, try some of these new (healthier) alternatives.

Strawberry S’mores Treat

  • Fresh strawberries
  • 1 jar marshmallow fluff
  • Graham cracker crumbs
  • Chocolate sauce

Try this fresh, fruity take on the classic. Place a whole strawberry on a roasting stick and dip it in marshmallow fluff. Roast it until the fluff turns golden brown. Roll the toasted berry in graham cracker crumbs and drizzle with chocolate sauce.

Roasted Pineapple

For an even simpler and healthier treat, grab a pineapple and some cinnamon. Simply cut the pineapple into pieces, and throw on a roasting stick. Once the pineapple is golden brown sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.

Caramel Apple S’mores

  • Apples (Granny smith recommended)
  • Caramel sauce
  • Marshmallows

Slice an apple thinly – we recommend a granny smith for a nice tart to sweet ratio. Drizzle the sliced apple with a small amount of caramel slice. Roast the marshmallow, place on one apple slice, then top with another apple slice to make a sandwich.

Banana S’mores

In this healthier version, simply switch out the marshmallow for banana slices. Roast the banana until nice and toasty and put it on a graham cracker with a thin slice of chocolate.

Savory Brie Apple S’mores

  • Ritz crackers
  • Brie cheese
  • Apple slice

Place an apple slice on a roasting stick and carefully place a slice of brie cheese on top. Roast the apple until the cheese is melted, and then place on a ritz cracker. Top with another ritz cracker for the traditional stacked treat.

Savory Tomato Basil S’mores

  • Wheat crackers
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Burrata cheese
  • Basil
  • Balsamic Reduction

Place burrata cheese on a cracker and top with one to two basil leaves. Roast the tomato until the skin starts to wrinkle, and then place on top of the cracker and cheese. Drizzle the balsamic reduction on top. Top with another cracker.
