Summer Camping Reservations

Think it’s too early to start thinking about that summer camping itinerary? Think again! Many of the most popular state park camping locations can be reserved now – and will fill up quick.
Beacon Rock State Park
Beacon Rock State Park is one park that just recently opened its campsites for reservations. Formerly only a first come first serve park, Beacon Rock State park is a popular destination located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Beacon Rock itself is the core of an ancient volcano. The park includes 9,500 feet of freshwater shoreline on the Columbia River and more than 26 miles of roads and trails open to hiking, mountain biking and equestrian use.
Reservations at Beacon Rock
If you’re counting on nabbing a first come, first serve spot at Beacon Rock this summer you may be disappointed! The park now offers only 3 first come, first serve spots. The rest can now be reserved from May 15th through September 15th. There are 3 campgrounds at Beacon Rock State Park.
Upper Campground
Located in the park on the north side of State Route 14. Open April 1 through Oct. 31.
- 25 standard tent sites
- 1 first-come, first-served hiker/biker site
Woodard Creek Campground
Located on the Columbia River side of SR 14. Open year-round.
- 5 RV sites (maximum length – 40 feet; full hookup)
Moorage Campground
- 2 first-come, first-served standard campsites
