We happen to think the Northwest offers some of the best winter outdoor activities of anywhere in the country. From snowshoeing, to skiing, to snowmobiles, there’s a bit of everything for enjoying some powder. If you have a youth who is interested in snowmobiling (and who wouldn’t be?), you will want to encourage safety from the start. A great place to begin is the State Parks Youth Snowmobile Safety Class.
Free Snowmobile Class
The Washington State Parks Winter Recreation Program, Chelan County Sheriff’s Office and Lake Wenatchee Recreation Club are offering a free snowmobile safety class to young snowmobilers this month.
The “Safe Rider” class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Lake Wenatchee Recreation Club’s clubhouse, 14400 Chiwawa Loop Road, Leavenworth (Driving directions). Participants must register by Friday, Dec. 11.
